Current out of Carmel, IN reported on a local DPC doc who saw a problem and then took action to fix it. As we all know, there has been a baby formula shortage in our country, and Dr. Risa Davidson decided to do something about the problem. Dr. Risa Davidson opened Little Village Pediatrics a little over a year ago, and she was seeing firsthand the struggles of her patients who could not find baby formula. Davidson said:

I have the platform (as a local pediatrician on social media) and resources to do it. I am a safe place for families to do formula drop offs/pickups, so they are not traveling to other people’s homes. I also have the ability to make time for this based on the concept of my small practice.

Dr. Davidson saw the need and responded. She said donations have been fantastic, and this is not just a service she is offering for her patients. This is open to anyone in need.

It comes in, and then I email people who have requested it, match them up and done. This is open to anyone and everyone. You do not have to be a part of my practice to donate or pick up formula.

DPC News reported on the opening of Little Village Pediatrics back in April 2021, and we are proud to highlight Dr. Davidson and her accomplishments again. This is a great example of how DPC docs continue to make a difference in their communities!
