Dean McFarlane-Parrott, MD and his wife Sally opened Heron Direct Primary Care at the end of 2023. Heron Creek Direct Patient Care provides a solution to today’s health care landscape. Dr. McFarlane-Parrott’s goal is to treat patients according to their individual needs rather than the artificial and restrictive constraints placed on treatment plans by insurance companies and health systems. 

My hope is to provide my patients with a true medical home where the collaborative relationship between the patient and physician is the cornerstone of preventive care and the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Throughout his academic career, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Creighton University and Michigan State University. 

Prior to Heron DPC, Dr. Parrott held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University from December 2013 to December 2017. This role showcased not only clinical expertise but also a dedication to educating the next generation of medical professionals. Additionally, he served as a Staff Physician at Lansing Urgent Care in Lansing, Michigan, from October 2018 to March 2020.
