Dr. Farnaz Pirayesh owns and operates Monarch Primary Care in San Luis Obispo, CA. Dr. Farnaz Pirayesh is a board-certified family medicine physician. She is an Iranian native who grew up in Zambia and has called California home for over 20 years. She completed her undergraduate degree at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA with a BS in Biochemistry. She then completed her PhD in Biochemistry at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA and went to medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. She moved to the Central Coast to train in Family Medicine and completed her residency at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA. She is also certified in integrative medicine and is a certified life coach. She met her husband on the Central Coast and has two children.

Preventive medicine is important to me and I want to work with you to promote health, and to prevent and reverse chronic diseases. As a physician and life coach, I want to help you overcome barriers to promote a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to provide comprehensive care and wellness but the current insurance based practice model only allows for providing sick care and not health care due to limited access and short visits. This is why I started my Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice.
