With over ten years of experience, Sonia Bisaccia, MD has decided to make the switch to Direct Primary Care. She has watched the quality of primary care delivery in this country worsen. Insurance companies were dictating what could be done in her appointments and she was spending less and less time with patients. She became disillusioned with the current model of healthcare and realized she wanted to create a practice where she could take the time with her patients that they deserve.

In the years that I’ve been a family doctor, I’ve watched the insurance companies become more and more controlling and, in turn, the quality of healthcare has worsened. I sacrificed and trained for years to be a family doctor and I take what I do very seriously, so when I realized that the quality of care I was able to deliver was being severely impacted by the insurance companies, I knew it was time for a change. Direct Primary Care allows me to practice high quality medicine and give people the time and access they deserve. It also allows me to vote with my feet and add my voice to the growing community of physicians who are concerned for the well-being of the citizens of this country. Something has to change and I want to be a part of that.

Dr. Bisaccia received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Stamford Hospital/Columbia University. She is board-certified in Family Medicine and has a special interest in women’s health, preventive medicine, and chronic disease management.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Bisaccia enjoys spending time with her partner, Thomas, and their 2 dogs, Tessa and Marty. For fun, she likes to cook, quilt, read, and throw backyard parties.
