The Estacada News welcomes Dr. Richard Orth back to Estacada. When Dr. Richard Orth first started seeing patients in Estacada more than 40 years ago, the community was considered in a healthcare manpower shortage. Through the US Public Health Service, Orth was called to respond and serve in the then even smaller community.

He then served outside of the community for a while, but in September 2023 he returned, ready to once again provide primary care in the town he calls home with Estacada Direct Primary. While Dr. Orth’s experience is broad, ranging from work in nursing homes, emergency rooms and methadone clinics, he’s focused his new clinic on primary care, specializing in family and senior care.

This is a brand new thing, so we’re still learning, too. We want healthcare to be accessible. I’ve been treating people here for 40 years and I learn something new every day. I love to learn and I love people. I’m glad to be here.

Joining Dr. Orth at Estacada Direct Primary Care is medical assistant Darrell Scarlett and office manager  Kristin Sewell.
