Christopher J. Stadtherr, MD of Revitalize Metabolic Health in Gig Harbor, WA has added DPC to his practice. Dr. Stadtherr has basically come full circle in his career, initially doing full-spectrum family medicine for three years, then working as a hospitalist for fourteen years, and now back to primary care.

While working as a hospitalist, perpetually managing the failures of the health sick care system, I found my calling in metabolic health. Initially, I was focused on the management of diabetes in the inpatient setting, but soon realized that the vast majority of modern medicine is metabolic disease, specifically Insulin Resistance and its myriad manifestations – obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory diseases, most cancers, and dementia. Rather than always managing the complications of metabolic disease, I wanted to get on the other side of the equation and be proactive about early detection and intervention, leading me to open my direct care practice focused on metabolic health and get board-certified in Obesity Medicine. The realization that I was already addressing 80% of what we do in health care – along with demand from my metabolic health patients – led me to add direct primary care to my clinic. I now maintain a mix of pure metabolic health patients – focused on weight loss, diabetes, and other metabolic optimization – along with full-service primary care patients.

Revitalize Metabolic Health is a direct care clinic offering optimization of metabolic health to people of all ages. Revitalize Metabolic Health was developed out of a desire to bring common sense back to a healthcare system that prioritizes sick care over preventive care. Dr. Stadtherr combines fundamental principles of ancestral health with modern, innovative approaches to deliver high-quality, personalized medical care while also providing a direct primary care option to his patients.

Dr. Stadtherr enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters outside of medicine.  He hosts a local chapter of Walk with a Doc twice monthly, modeling an active lifestyle for not only the community but also for his family, with his wife and two daughters faithfully joining him rain or shine. He also loves time outdoors, whether water skiing, backpacking in the Olympic National Park, or cold plunging in the Sound.
