KIMATV did a story about Sunny Family Medicine, which opened its doors back in January. Sunny Family Medicine is run by the husband-and-wife doctor team of Dr. Christian Nilsen and Dr. Nina Ngo. They are the only employees on the staff right now. Their business, Sunny Family Medicine, won this year’s Enterprise Challenge as they seek to make things better for people in the Yakima Valley. Dr. Ngo states:

One of the reasons she and her husband came back to Yakima to run their own clinic is because of the county’s shortage of doctors.

Yakima County especially is 25-percent less than the national average, doctor-patient-ratio, and so, that need just keeps on getting greater.

They both feel that the DPC model will provide great benefits to the patients of Yakima.

We have witnessed many patients being ill-served in the current model of primary care, enduring fragmented continuity, rushed appointments, and long wait times delaying important medical care.

We understand first hand that compassionate care matters, and we have devoted our lives to providing care to our patients like family.
