This is how ridiculous our healthcare system is. I forgot who had sent this to us a while ago but here were their thoughts:

A “good faith estimate” from one of our local hospitals with their cash price off for 2 CT scans for an uninsured patient.
Discounted price = $5,928.71. Same studies through us: 71260 $320 and 74177 $430.

The only thing that can save us is the free market. NOT private equity. NOT the government. NOT the “good graces” of so-called nonprofit hospitals.

Direct Primary Care is the free market and DPC docs work as advocates to get the lowest prices for our patients. How about these journalists pick up on that?

  1. It is getting totally ridiculous the price of health care, which is one reason that we chose Holton direct care they don’t price gouge people,& We feel they truly have medical personnel that care about their patients.
My son had a small cyst the size of a dime removed and our local hospital and doctors charged him over $3000 to remove it then he got another bill from an ear nose and throat doctor in Topeka for 1200 so total cost was over 4000 $ to remove a dime sized cyst.
He is now also signed up with Holton direct care And we tell everybody that will listen about it.
