You left the system!!
Here’s what’s going on in the Medicare world:
Provider groups and congressional allies are lobbying vigorously to prevent a wave of Medicare payment cuts in the face of inflationary price hikes, The Washington Post reported Dec. 9.
“I am not here to negotiate,” AMA President Jack Resneck, MD, told the outlet of his recent visits to Capitol Hill. “I’m here to be very clear that no cuts are acceptable at this time.”
The reductions in question include a nearly 4.5 percent Medicare reimbursement cut for some providers and an across-the-board cut of up to 4 percent for hospital and physician Medicare payments, the report said. Also on the chopping block: a 5 percent bonus provision that incentivizes providers to enroll in a Medicare payment innovation program.
Those cutbacks would kick in next year.
Imagine having to negotiate every single year to not get a cut in your payment. Forget inflation. Forget that you should get incremental raises each year. No, doctors left in the system are now begging not to get cuts again.
It doesn’t matter that the world thought you were heroes during COVID-19. The bottom line is people think physicians are the weak link and are making too much money in the system when in reality, it’s the third parties gouging us all.
This is the beauty of Direct Primary Care. People have to pay us or they don’t. It’s a free market system and you have to prove yourself to the patient and no one else. There are no cuts. You can raise your rates if you need to.
And the doctors and the patients are all happy.
