An article in Physician’s Weekly did a pretty good job explaining what makes a good doctor stand out from the rest. Feel free to read the whole thing but let me give you the highlights:

  • A good bedside manner
  • Returning texts and calls to patients
  • Taking the time to talk to a patient
  • Looking the patient in the eye
  • Be caring and compassionate
  • Be interested in the patient
  • Be willing to listen to the patient
  • Have a nice ambiance in your facility/practice
  • Have front office staff that make a good first impression
  • Never having to wait too long to see the doctor

Unfortunately, the author has no clue about the difference between concierge medicine and DPC:

With concierge medicine, or the direct primary care model, patients pay an annual retainer fee to have longer visits and easier access to their doctors, but this can end up being quite expensive. At the end of the day, a doctor’s performance and their medical skills will net the happiest patients.

Concierge and DPC are not the same. DPC is not expensive and checks all the boxes above.

BECOME A DPC DOCTOR. And stand out from the rest.
