I get so amused at the “experts” who are fixing the healthcare system. I see their pronouncements and their mission statements all the time. It’s always hot air. They were usually administrators bloviating but now business people and IT geeks are all in on it. I have seen this for over 30 years and it’s all the same word salad. And nothing ever gets done other than these people lining their pockets.

Let me give some examples I found on Twitter:

  1. Our innovative health system is based on providing high-quality, affordable and equitable care.
  2. Led by Dr. ______the center’s mission is to improve the lives of individuals living with _____ through cutting-edge research & novel therapies.
  3. I’m meeting with _________to discuss screening for social determinants of health in health care & averting funding cuts to __________ critical to build Primary Care workforce.
  4. Scalability of _______ APIs is here, and ready for broader adoption.
  5. We’re going to be absolutely relentless about building the digital future in healthcare.
  6. Physicians need to prioritize advocating for more funding.
  7. Because of poor reimbursement models, small hospitals are on the brink of bankruptcy.
  8. As data increasingly becomes commoditized, free thinking becomes priceless.
  9. Grateful to be able to talk with ________ about diagnostically connecting data to transform EHRs from being ‘where clinical data goes to die’ to working for clinicians and bringing them valuable information at the point of care.

Feel free to add some more or tell me what any of the above means.

The ONLY thing that I have ever seen work for the patient and the doctor is DIRECT PRIMARY CARE!
