Here is a shout-out to Dr. Laura Petrescu founded Athena Direct Primary Care about a year ago and now has a nice television interview on her local news. Here are some of the highlights where DPC is promoted:

  • Fewer patients, longer appointments, and more time to counsel
  • With that subscription, the patient gets quicker access to the doctor. Same or next-day appointments, hour-long appointments, and In-office procedures are included in their membership.
  • Her decision to launch this kind of care, came after years of burnout, and not being able to care for patients her way.
  • She said direct primary care is a monthly fee, and more affordable.

The funniest part of the piece, however, is what the TV program had to throw in (in the written section) about where Dr. Petrescu was formerly employed:

In previous stories on this matter, Rochester Regional Health said, “We remain true to our mission to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible care to our patients and the community.”

I don’t know the place but affordable? C’mon. Let’s stop lying. Also throwing that in means someone at the studio said to themselves, “We can’t talk bad about Rochester Regional Health. They pay for us with ads!”
