The Fitchburg Star gave an informative update highlighting the one year anniversary of Dedicated Family Health in Fitchburg, WI. Wendy Molaska, MD, who you may remember reading about here at DPC News has made it through the first year of starting her DPC practice in May of 2021.

Dr. Molaska, a Wausau native and University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate practiced in the traditional healthcare system for two decades before making the jump to Direct Primary Care.

“A lot of things were benefiting insurance companies, not families, it was frustrating to me,” Molaska told the Star. “I want to spend more time with patients, get to know them and their families, that’s why I went into medicine to begin with.”

Molaska now appreciates being able to bike to work, and not having to travel a long distance to see patients. She is also grateful for now being able to spend more time with her two children. She also likes the diversity of Fitchburg, which is why she has hired a Spanish-speaking nurse to serve as an interpreter at her clinic. This will now help her to meet the needs of a more diverse population in the area.

After making it through her first year successfully, Dr. Molaska now wants to help the physicians who are looking to make a change to Direct Primary Care. She admits getting into DPC can be “intimidating,” but the growing network of nationwide DPC doctors helps each other out, she said.

Congratulations to Dr. Molaska. DPC News loves hearing about updates. Send us your stories.
