All press is good press, right? Maybe. We at DPC News follow what’s in the media every day. We appreciate this article in Parade but we need to correct a few things.

HERE IS THE LINK

Let’s start pointing out the mistakes:The title: $200 Per Month for Easier Access to Your Doc and More Functional Medicine? We Unpack Whether Monthly Subscription Health Care Is Really Worth It

$200 a month? Functional Medicine? A very, very small sliver of DPC docs charge this amount or do functional medicine. No judgment. Just facts.

As of 2018, according to Optimum Direct Care, approximately 20,000 of the 465,000 primary care physicians in the United States have switched to a direct care model. Some examples of direct primary care models you may have heard of include Parsley HealthForwardCarbon Health, and more.

Ummm. 20,000? We wish. And other than Dr. Muzzonigro at Optimum (shout out to her) the other companies are DINOs (DPC in Name Only).

The rest of the article is very informative and I think does a great job explaining even some of the mistakes from the beginning of the piece.

Let’s recognize these doctors also mentioned:

Dr. Ben Aiken

Aaron N. Hartman, MD

Congrats on getting the word out there and correcting some of the misinformation people have about DPC.
