It’s the Little Things That Make Your Office Successful
Warning: there is some cursing in the video.
How in the hell am I relating this to your Direct Primary Care office? You’d be surprised how my mind works. First, watch the video. Then sit and think for a bit.
- I love that he has looked at the statistics of how to gain a loyal customer.
- I love that he did this on the cheap.
- I love that the customer feels appreciated and WANTS to come back.
How can this work for you?
Do the research, make your strategy affordable, and make your patients feel appreciated.
I wrote in my book, “Slowing the Churn in Direct Primary Care (While Also Keeping Your Sanity) ,” how marketing to your own patients is crucial for reducing turnover. Newsletters, announcements, and personal emails about saving them money are all great ways to keep them part of the practice. Obviously, there is muchmore to this in the book, but you get the idea. They are cheap but effective.
What about how this relates to attracting and getting patients to join? Let your mind wander and think about ways. For me, it was about the number of times we could educate patients about Direct Primary Care. For example, it may be a Facebook post that turns into a visit to our website. From there, they would get a prompt to download the free pdf Consumer Guide to Primary Care, which shows why DPC is the best option. This may lead to a phone call where a staff member answers all the questions they have about DPC, which then leads to an appointment for a free meet-and-greet. By the time I saw them, they were already convinced this was the best option for them, but I was able to answer any last questions they had left. That’s five touch points.
You get the idea. More importantly, learn how other industry thinkers are making things work for them and tweak it for yourself. DPC is the best way to practice family medicine. Our competition (the FFS system) is horrible. It’s not even close. You just need to find ways to let the world know about it.

This is brilliant as usual! I really appreciate thinking about things in such simple yet effective ways! Thank you!
