Direct Primary Care is Getting Traction in the News

When I first started this website, I would survey all the media stories about DPC. There wasn’t much. I recently decided to take another gander, and boy, have things gone wild.

I do not claim that all these are positive for us. Some of the above articles are DPC practices run by non-doctors. Some are obvious PE/VC ventures. This begs the question as to whether all press is good press when referring to Direct Primary Care. Personally, I don’t think so.

The growth of DPC is directly related to the work of other docs who first started doing this. The tipping point was when the DPC Alliance was started, because I believe the DPC Alliance has helped accelerate interest, especially with their work with the DPC Summit and DPC Masterminds. I also think DPC News has helped a bit as well. Too much excitement, in my opinion, risks attracting the wrong people to DPC, as they may want to financially capitalize on the concept.

So….let’s all be careful what we wish for.
