National Direct Primary Care Day is less than a month away!

I am hoping you are all aware that November 1st, the day the public can pick their insurance plan, is also National Direct Primary Care Day. The goal of this event is to educate the public about DPC. What can you do to help promote this?

  1. Get a shirt and do a social media post about DPC on or before November 1st. You can get them, at cost, here. DO THIS NOW because it takes some time to print these!!
  2. Send an email to your local (or national) press connection. Here is an example I sent but feel free to changing anything and everything:

Dear ____,

I just want to give you a heads up National Direct Primary Care Day on November 1st. This is the day that patients typically choose their new health plan.  We want to educate them about some new options available.

Why Public Awareness Matters

  1. Breaking Misconceptions – Many people assume that health insurance is the only way to access primary care, leading them to accept high premiums, copays, and restricted networks. DPC challenges this notion by offering direct, transparent pricing and unlimited access to primary care services.
  2. Encouraging Preventive Care – With DPC, patients can see their doctor as often as needed without worrying about additional costs. This fosters a culture of preventive care, reducing the likelihood of chronic conditions and emergency visits.
  3. Strengthening Doctor-Patient Relationships – Unlike traditional insurance-driven models, DPC allows physicians to spend more time with patients, leading to better health outcomes and personalized care.
  4. Promoting Healthcare Independence – By educating the public, more individuals can take control of their healthcare choices, opting for a model that prioritizes their well-being over bureaucratic hurdles.

The OBBBA finally allows patients to use their HSA to pay for their DPC membership.  There are new options to combine that DPC membership with catastrophic plans per CMS but also there is this option from Atlas.Direct  or even a health sharing option.

Lastly, even though DPC clinics are individual and not really connected, we are all working together to promote this event.  Here is all the information on National DPC Day

Any advice you can give to get the word out would be greatly appreciated. It’s a great cause.

I appreciate your time and I hope this intrigues you. You can contact me via email or call xxx-xxxx.

Okay, everyone, I hope you are all on board. This is a way of giving back to patients and to future DPC doctors who need those patients.
