Congratulations, Family Medicine, You’re #3 for Most Depressed!

A new study came out and showed that 35.8% of family medicine doctors* are depressed. Not too shabby. It’s not easy getting the bronze medal in psychiatric disorders for doctors but we did it!!! You can check out the other contenders here. I want to be the first to tell the urologists and the emergency medicine doctors that we family doctors are not going to be content with #3 and will work as hard as we can to take your spots. All we need is more metrics, more quality indicators, more EHR breakdowns, more prior authorizations, and more hospital employment and we will surpass you next year. Watch out, because here we come!

(*Luckily the authors did not survey any Direct Primary Care doctors because those ridiculously happy physicians would screw up any chance we had of winning).
