The DPC Alliance is Coming to a Town Near You!

The Direct Primary Care Alliance took its roadshow to Nashville in April where Executive Director Julie Ramirez, CAE joined AAFP CEO Shawn Martin on stage at the HINT Summit 2026.
Mrs. Ramirez and Mr. Martin chatted about the growth of the DPC model and how this grassroots movement by physicians is gaining national attention for its ability to reshape the future of primary care. The two shared their views on how adoption has improved the model’s credibility noting that thousands of primary care doctors across America are making the transition.
Mrs. Ramirez said membership in DPC Alliance is exploding with members represented in 48 states (we are coming for you Alaska and Rhode Island). Mr. Martin said the AAFP’s DPC member profile will hit 12-15 percent by the end of 2026, a number that represents over 15,000 physicians who are now categorized as DPC providers. Mrs. Ramirez responded that the DPC Alliance is prepared to support this growth with education and peer mentoring to create smooth transitions and ongoing success.
Mr. Martin commended the DPC Alliance on its ability to help physicians build DPC practices with education that focuses on not just business matters like vendor resources that help them find affordable solutions but also on patient growth by sharing tips to engage local businesses that want to improve their employee health benefits.
Mrs. Ramirez said the Masterminds series is one of the most popular educational offerings by DPC Alliance. Masterminds are intentional and interactive small-group programs led by physician leaders in DPC. Participants are immersed in a setting that prioritizes connection, dialogue, and collaboration. The format allows for extended one-on-one conversations with peers and presenters, giving everyone the chance to dive into the issues most relevant to their practice or career. They include tours of an operational DPC practice and the flexibility to go off agenda when a participant raises a specific challenge or opportunity.
The DPC Alliance is hosting a DPC Pediatric Conference in Savannah, Georgia on April 16-19, 2026. Registration is still open for any pediatric physicians looking to explore the DPC model. In June, the DPC Alliance will host a DPC Masterminds on June 12-14, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. DPC member Dr. Adriana Raus will lead the Masterminds program at the Courtyard Grand Rapids Airport. Dr. Angela Andrews and Dr. John Italiano are your Masterminds Michigan hosts. Attendees will enjoy a tour of Thrive Family Health Direct Primary Care during the weekend. In July, the DPC Alliance is heading to New Orleans for the DPC Summit, and will also be in Kansas City in late July for the AAFP’s Future Conference. An additional DPC Masterminds is scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas during the fall as well. Keep an eye on the Alliance as it grows and becomes the partner you need for practice growth.
