Current announced the recent opening of Valor Direct Primary Care. Dr. Phillip Burrer is a family physician and founder of Valor DPC, a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice bringing personalized, patient-first primary care to his community. The staff at Valor Direct Primary Care consists of Burrer and his wife, Cheri, a registered nurse. She adopted the role of practice manager, which is a combination of receptionist, nurse, and medical assistant.

We are a two-person show, so we are getting down to the basics. The idea is when you call our office, you either get me picking up the phone or you’re getting my wife picking up the phone. There’s going to be no complicated leaving messages and getting back to you later. The purpose of this is to be a lean practice where the patients always come first.

Dr. Burrer founded Valor Direct Primary Care on the principle that patients always come first. Dr. Burrer has always dreamed of being a small-town doctor, working closely with his wife, Cheri, and forming meaningful relationships with patients to help them be as healthy as possible. He is thrilled to bring this unique opportunity to the Carmel community. They offer adult and pediatric primary care and urgent care to our members. If you need care beyond what we can provide in the office, Dr. Burrer will work with you to find the best care for the best price.

Like many other physicians, Dr. Burrer worked for many years in the traditional healthcare system before making the change to DPC.

After over 25 years in practice, I have seen patients get exploited and pay too much for subpar care. The system is broken, and I refuse to serve a master who prioritizes insurance companies or accountants over patient care. My mission is simple: I want to care for people, help them, and surpass their low expectations of doctors.

Welcome to Dr. Phillip Burrer and his wife Cheri to DPC. It is great to see another husband-wife team starting a DPC practice.
