Dr. Stutts graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree 1999. She then attended University of Florida Medical School where she graduated with her Doctorate of Medicine in 2003. From there, she attended Wake Forest University Family Medicine Residency and became board certified in 2006 in Family Medicine.

Jodi Stutts, M.D. started with Carolinas Healthcare (currently Atrium) in Lincolnton, NC in 2006. She loved the small town feel of medicine and primary care and worked there until 2013, when she took 9 months off to care for her two babies at home. Though she loved being a stay-at-home Mom, she missed her role as a physician. After nine months, she then accepted a position closer to home at Carolinas Health Care Davidson Clinic where she worked for 3 years.

In 2016, the opportunity to work even closer to home presented itself and she joined Iredell Family Medicine with Iredell Health Systems in Mooresville, NC. Her role as a corporate physician was fulfilling, but she felt the need to pursue a career as a physician that didn’t have some of the constraints of the corporate world.

Dr. Jodi wanted to create a community where her patients felt like family. She researched an option that would allow her to use all of her experience as a primary care physician while incorporating her strong desire to care for patients on a more personal level. After a year of research, going to a DPC Summit Conference held by the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2022 and speaking with dozens of DPC physicians, she decided this was ultimately the next chapter in her career so she opened Stutts Family Health and Wellness.

After 17 years of corporate medicine, I was ready to be on my own where I was able to make the decisions and take care of patients the way I wanted to. I jokingly have said I am a square peg needing to fit in a round hole of corporate medicine. No matter how hard I tried, I wasn’t meant to fit in as a corporate doctor. I like to take time with each patient, really get to know them and to be there for them without the hustle and bustle of 15 minute appointments. The Direct Primary Care model just makes sense for me!

Dr. Stutts currently lives in Mooresville, NC with her husband Jayson and two daughters Avery (12) and Emmy (10) and their two 5-year Golden Retrievers Hallie and Gracie. Dr. Stutts enjoys spending time with her family at volleyball games, summertime boating on the lake, being active in her church and spending quality time with her good friends. She has a passion for medicine, is a life-long learner and absolutely loves being a doctor!
