P. Josh Wenzell, MD has joined Simplicity Health Direct Primary Care in Dayton, Ohio. He is joining Charles Opperman, MD, FACP and Michelle Havlin, LPN. Dr. Wenzell is from Enon, OH and completed his Bachelor of Science from Furman University, Medical Doctorate from Wright State University – Boonshoft School of Medicine, and residency at Bethesda Family Practice in Cincinnati, OH where he served as chief resident. Dr. Wenzell his also fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Wenzell states that he has many reason for switching to DPC, but these are his top three.

1) Having more time to get to know patients on a personal level, making true Shared Decision Making more central to our visits.

*Shared Decision Making means incorporating the best available scientific evidence with each individual patient’s values and priorities. If a medication or other intervention has not been shown to improve a patient’s quantity or quality of life, then it should not be used outside of an experimental setting, which is a hallmark of Evidence Based Medicine.

2) Removing middlemen from the patient-physician relationship to prevent outside interference.

3) Helping reduce the inflated, opaque, and often surprising costs of healthcare to patients and the system at large.

In his spare time, Dr. Wenzell enjoys spending time with his family, board games, reading (mainly Sci-Fi and medical history), playing music (piano and French horn), and traveling around the world.

Welcome to the DPC Family Dr. Wenzell. You’re going to love it.
