Priority Health Direct Primary Care: The First DPC Practice in Bentonville, Arkansas

The Bentonville Bulletin recently wrote an update about how Priority Health DPC is doing four years after opening. Dr. Kimberly Chapman started Priority Health Direct Primary Care in January 2020 due to the frustrations that came with working in modern healthcare.
I was just frustrated with the idea that in order to be profitable in the hospital system, I was going to have to see 25-30 people a day to pay my salary. The joy of medicine is taking care of patients and getting to know them, it’s that relationship you develop, and in the traditional fee-for-service system there’s just too much to do.
Since opening, Priority Health has now grown to about 300 patients. By booting insurance from the relationship, Chapman says she’s able to provide a better experience to patients while also saving them money. With a lower patient load, Chapman is able to offer same-day or next-day appointments. She makes herself available via phone and email and does house visits when necessary, too.
In her spare time, she and her husband Alan love to travel, sing, play bridge, and go boating. They root for the Hogs, and she and her mother go to the basketball games. They play a lot of dominoes with family and friends, and sometimes they tootle around Northwest Arkansas in a 1963 MGB when the weather’s nice.
Congratulations Dr. Chapman! DPC News loves giving updates on practices across the country.
