Joya Family & Lifestyle Medicine: Empowering Wellness through Direct Primary Care and Lifestyle Medicine

Dr. Alexis Alexander Epperly founder and sole physician at Joya Family and Lifestyle Medicine in Manassas, Virginia, is an experienced physician, board certified in family medicine and lifestyle medicine. With a deep commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Epperly takes a holistic approach to health, addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of each patient.
At Joya, her approach to medicine focuses on the six pillars of health: nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connections. Dr. Epperly is committed to delivering care that is patient-centered, holistic, and grounded in integrity, and she feels that the direct primary care model offers her the best way to achieve these goals.
My why for starting a direct primary care practice is to have the time to spend with my patients, listen to their concerns and partner with them in their health decisions. This is the only way to educate on Lifestyle Medicine strategies for chronic disease prevention. The insurance-based practice model required short appointments, but in direct primary care, I can spend as much time as it takes to share health education and bring the joy back to healthcare.
Dr. Epperly is a medical graduate of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and earned her undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University. She is a proud Navy veteran, a follower of Christ, wife, and mother. All of these wonderful relationships inform the way she practices medicine, as she seeks to bring joy into each encounter.
