Homestead Direct Primary Care in Colorado Springs, CO is owned and operated by Dr. Rachel Langley. The clinic is located near what used to be the tiny towns of Husted and Edgerton. Dr. Langley believes that just as the original residents of those towns, and even further back to the Utes, had to learn and adapt to live here, so will Homestead DPC teach and work with the community to thrive.
I was left choosing between being an entrepreneur, something I had never wanted, starting my own clinic, and joining a typical insurance driven group, where I would have a reliable paycheck but no freedom to practice medicine the way I wanted. It was a question of freedom vs comfort. I hope that I can portray my choice well to my children in the coming months to years, that when we can afford extracurricular activities right now, that they remember that the best life choices involve sacrifice. When it all feels like too much, I try to remember that this is to show my kids our priorities, as much as for my own desire for clinical freedom.
Dr. Langley served for 12 years in the Air Force as a flight surgeon, but then settled down for greater stability for her family and to provide care for those outside the military as well. She’s a mother five of her very favorite people, and married the best man she’s ever met, and the only thing that could pull her away from home every morning is her love of medicine. She chose family medicine as a specialty when she couldn’t bear to cut an age group or demographic from her practice – she loves seeing all ages of people every day, and providing care for every ailment under the sun. After attending the University of Colorado at Boulder and a short stint as a middle school science teacher, she couldn’t resist medical school any longer, and attended an osteopathic medical school in Kansas City, KCUMB. The Air Force brought her to Las Vegas for residency, then to Oklahoma to fly with student pilots, and finally to Germany for a dream assignment in Europe. She learned about Direct Primary Care and joined a practice in Colorado Springs in 2019, then branched off in 2023 to form her own independent practice at Homestead Direct Primary Care (homesteadcodpc.com). She is also certified as a Lactation Consultant and a Medical Consultant in NaPro Technology.

Dr. Langley enjoys gardening, bonsai, beekeeping, reading, and travel. And if that is not enough, she enjoys skiing, stand up paddle boarding, sprint marathon, and rock climbing. Is there anything this woman can’t do?!
