Greer Family Medicine in Ocean City, MD has added a new physician, and it is staying in the family! William T. Greer III, MD, after working in the traditional medical system for many years and even helping to form the Atlantic General Health System, felt the need to find more work-life balance. In 2003, Dr. Greer moved back into private practice, which then developed into his own DPC practice in 2005. Dr. Greer is passionate about quality, personalized health care. He has spent the last 17 years in his DPC practice curating a team that shares his passion for outstanding care, and now his daughter Julian Greer, MD is joining the team.

Julian has been board certified in Family Medicine since July 2022. She moonlighted at urgent care during her third year of residency, and decided to continue working at urgent care for a couple months after residency to allow for some time to travel. She has now returned to her hometown to work with her father and life-long mentor.

I went into DPC because I saw the difference it made for my father’s career. I saw him transition to a very sustainable work/life balance. My dad has always said that the key to happiness is having meaningful work. I feel that Direct Primary Care gives me the opportunity to do meaningful work; to spend time on preventive health care and education rather than the “disease-driven care” that is so common in the fee-for-service system. I feel so lucky that I was able to join my father’s DPC practice right out of residency, so that I can enjoy practicing medicine my entire career!

What a wonderful thing to see DPC continuing to the next generation of physicians. Contact DPC News if you know of any other DPC practices that are keeping it in the family.
