The Peninsula Chronicle announced the opening of CountyMed DPC in Yorktown, VA, the first DPC practice in Yorktown. Dr. Phi Lam is a board-certified physician with 15 years experience in primary and urgent care.

My goal for opening CountyMed DPC is to regain focus on the patient-doctor relationship. Providing better care for fewer patients is the way medicine works best. The role of a primary care physician was always meant to encompass as much knowledge about each individual patient.

Dr. Lam is a first generation American, born in Ithaca, NY. His parents immigrated from Vietnam, and his father earned his PhD from Cornell University. He was raised in Northern California and attended UC San Diego for his undergraduate degree and then he was accepted into the Medical College of Virginia in 2004.

Dr. Lam’s wife is a native of York County, a practicing anesthesiologist, and the current Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Together they are raising two sons. If he is not at work, then you will find him on the golf course or coaching for the boys’ York County Little League team.
