Comprehensive Health in Mt. Dora, FL

Vanessa Urbina, M.D was born in Caracas-Venezuela in 1978. She was brought up by very compassionate parents who were always helping the underserved. She grew up in Caracas until the age of 12 when her dying mother brought her to this country in her final attempt to give her daughter a better future.
Vanessa earned her bachelor’s degree from FAU in 2003. She then completed Medical School at the University of Miami in 2007. After graduating she went in to complete four years of general surgery at Baptist Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She left general surgery to focus on a more General Practice method of care which included training and practices in Weight Loss, Urgent Care, Occupational Health, Addiction Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Hospice, Pediatrics and Family Medicine.
She had been working in Corporate Health feeling overworked and frustrated, and then she heard about the DPC Alliance and she went to conference. She was amazed and encouraged to talk with DPC doctors who were actually happy with their jobs. She also learned that you don’t need to be a financial/marketing/medical guru to have your own clinic. So, she jumped in! She got a line of credit for 50k, opened Comprehensive Health DPC in August, and broke even six months later. She is happy and feels fulfilled with the comprehensive care she can now give to her patients.
Vanessa has a ten year old daughter, the light of her life. She also loves animals, she has volunteered multiple times at pets by Judy, has rescued multiple animals (including a chicken) and other organizations that include tutoring, feeding and taking medical care of the homeless in Miami. Vanessa spends her free time Dancing Flamenco at Flamenco del Sol. She currently resides with her daughter and her two dogs in Sanford, Florida.
If you are doubting if you can open your own DPC practice, talk to others who have done it. A great resource is the DPC Alliance.
