The Great Physician Replacement Theory

They want to replace you. They want to replace you with someone else or something else.
They = administrators, the government, insurers.
Someone else = NPs/PAs.
Something else = AI.
And here we go: NEW LAW WOULD ALLOW AI TO REPLACE YOUR DOCTOR, PRESCRIBE DRUGS
The proposed law was introduced in the House of Representatives by Arizona’s David Schweikert this month, where it was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for review. Its purpose: to “amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to clarify that artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies can qualify as a practitioner eligible to prescribe drugs.”
I could go into a million reasons why this won’t work but for now, let’s just say that The Great Physician Replacement Theory is intact and the ONLY reason it exists is to save money. The money saved, by the way, is NOTHING compared to what they pay useless administrators or the waste/fraud that goes on our healthcare system. But that doesn’t matter. They are in charge and we physicians cost too much, are a nuisance, are too respected by patients, and therefore must go.
Prove me wrong.
But there is hope. We need to be our own best advocates. We need to break the chains of employment and do Direct Primary Care. Then if somehow the corrupt insurance industry is exposed and brought down there will be a perfect recipe of Direct Primary Care (and DSC), HSAs, catastrophic insurance, and patient personal responsibility.
Remember, when the “business people” took over healthcare it was no longer about health or about caring.
Rant over.
