Two Months Until National Direct Primary Care Day!

On this Labor Day, I want to remind you to start gearing up to educate the public about our labor and our work and how it helps them. November 1 is National DPC Day. This is the first collaborative effort to try to educate patients about Direct Primary Care.

Here is the official definition::

National Direct Primary Care (DPC) Day, observed on November 1, is a celebration of physician independence and patient-centered care. It highlights the growing movement of doctors reclaiming their autonomy from insurance-driven healthcare models and instead offering direct, transparent, and affordable primary care to their patients. The goal is to educate the public that they have options beyond the conventional system.

Why This Day Matters (you can also use this as a definition)

National Direct Primary Care Day serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the benefits of direct primary care and advocate for a healthcare system that prioritizes relationships over bureaucracy. It empowers both doctors and patients to take control of their healthcare decisions, fostering a model that is sustainable, transparent, and affordable for patients.

Why November 1?

  1. The beginning of Open Enrollment for health insurance is Nov 1st, making it a great opportunity to highlight DPC as an alternative or complement to traditional insurance.
  • This raises awareness during a time people are reconsidering health care options and a timely reminder that there is another way to access healthcare.
  • DPC Day could be a symbolic contrast, emphasizing DPC as that alternative.
  • This day is also free from major holidays.

Subject: November 1 Is National Direct Primary Care Day — A Movement Worth Covering

Dear [Media Contact Name],

I’m reaching out to share an important and timely story that deserves your attention.

National Direct Primary Care (DPC) Day, observed annually on November 1, is a celebration of physician independence and patient-centered care. It marks a growing movement of doctors stepping away from insurance-driven models to offer direct, transparent, and affordable primary care—and it’s changing the healthcare landscape.

Why does this matter? Because millions of Americans still don’t know they have options beyond the conventional system. DPC empowers both physicians and patients to reclaim control over healthcare decisions, fostering stronger relationships, better outcomes, and a more sustainable model for care.

Why November 1? It’s no coincidence that DPC Day aligns with the start of Open Enrollment for health insurance. While many are reevaluating their coverage, this day serves as a symbolic contrast—highlighting DPC as an alternative or complement to traditional insurance. It’s a moment to educate, advocate, and inspire change.

Key Messages for Your Audience:

  • DPC offers unlimited and affordable access to primary care without copays or hidden fees.
  • It encourages preventive care and stronger doctor-patient relationships.
  • It promotes healthcare independence and transparency.
  • It’s a model that’s growing rapidly—and deserves national attention.

We’re calling on media outlets, healthcare advocates, and community leaders to help amplify this message. Whether through coverage, interviews, or social media, your voice can help inform the public and spark meaningful dialogue.

Ways to Get Involved:

  • Share stories of DPC physicians and patients.
  • Feature DPC Day in your health segment or calendar listings.
  • Help us reach broader audiences through your platform.

This isn’t just a day—it’s a movement. And we’d love your help in making it heard.
