Adult patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities often have complex medical needs. Unfortunately, more than half of physicians are not confident in their abilities to care for these patients, placing them at increased risk for medical mismanagement and poor quality of life.

The learning objectives are:

1) Improve your confidence in your ability to perform a Health Maintenance Exam for adult patients with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

2) Understand screening guidelines for adults patients with IDD

3) Develop improved communication techniques for working with adult patients with IDD
