How Many Administrators Does Direct Primary Care Need? Almost None.

For fifteen years, I worked as a hospital employee. There were some good things about it (a guaranteed salary when I just started out, working with my good friends, and, well, that’s about it). I can’t tell you how many hospital administrators I saw come and go, but it was at least dozens. I had so many stories about them that I even had to produce a humorous medical journal where I could mock them. Somehow I still kept my job. Here is an example:

That brings me to the video above. I laugh every time I watch this. I saw it on the web, but with different wording. So, I tweaked it a bit. Not every administrator sucks or is useless, but most are, and they account for a huge overhead in the medical system.

How many administrators are needed in Direct Primary Care?

Very, very, very few. And the doctor is now their boss.
