My Disney DPC Story

I am here at Walt Disney World on vacation. It’s day four and it’s unusually crowded. We visited Animal Kingdom and rode the Avatar attraction first. We finished at about 8:30ish and made our way to the Safari ride. The line was unusually long, so much so that my daughter and I stepped out and decided to wait at the exit. It took forever for my family to get through. The video above is my daughter videoing me waiting for my wife, two other kids, and my daughter-in-law to come off.

And then my DPC hero comes out first.

Josh Umbehr!!!

What was weird is that Josh tells me the story of him helping someone right near the attraction who had a cardiac arrest at 8:40 AM. The guy died twice but was revived with an AED and compressions.

So, in summary, Josh was the cause of the delay and made my family wait!!!

And that’s the moral of the story.

I’m kidding about that part. Josh did help to save the man’s life. I hope Disney gives him a Mickey AED as a thank you.

It is always awesome to see friends in weird places and Josh and I go way back. DPC creates bonds that stay forever. I look forward to seeing him and a lot of you in New Orleans in July!!
