It’s The Little Things

We all know the benefits of DPC. Time with your doctor. Accessibility. Affordability.

Patients love those things. It seems so simple.

In our society, simple is often too good to be true.

Americans tend to believe bigger is better.

I prefer smaller; I like simple.

I believe that DPC’s success is in part due to the simple, little things.

Those little things are big wins for DPC.

A person answers the phone. Win.

A person answers the phone and knows the patient’s name. Win Win.

An appointment is available today for a sick patient. Win.

You have time to ask a patient about their kids, their family, their hobby. Win Win Win.

They have time to ask you about your family and favorite college football team. WIN

There is complimentary water and coffee in the waiting room. Win.

There are no paper gowns in the exam rooms, only soft cotton ones. Win

“While I’m here can I get a refill of ——?” “Sure.” Win.

“While I’m here, can you remove those pesky skin tags?” “Sure.” Big Win.

A patient is having financial trouble, you quietly give them a couple months of complimentary

membership. Heartfelt Win.

These things are not complicated.

They are simple.

They are the little things that make a HUGE difference.
