Do You Believe in Miracles?

I love the Olympics.
Love all of it: the athletes’ stories, the Olympic rings, the flags, the gold medals.
I even love Snoop.
One of my fondest childhood memories is watching the 1980 Hockey Team.
I sat on the family room sofa w my dad, watching. He cried tears of joy & pride.
I didn’t fully understand back then…. I do now.
Our country’s young team of scruffy underdogs out-worked and out-played the well oiled, seasoned Soviets.
I will forever remember Jim Craig wrapped an American flag looking up in the stands for his dad. I can still see Mike Eruzione waving the team up onto the medal podium.
Those boys “played their game” and went on to Olympic glory.
I think DPC is a lot like that 1980 team.
A bunch of scruffy, underdog (I use those terms in the most enduring way) doctors out-working the system, winning every damn day against the colossal health systems.
What we do for our patients brings tears of joy & pride.
I am proud.
Proud of the red white & blue.
Proud of all the DPC doctors out there.

Love this. My parents made me go to bed so I listened to the end of the game on the radio. I will never forget that moment!
