“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”
Steve Jobs
The above does NOT describe our present healthcare system. The reason is that too many third parties have their hands in the pot. This includes insurance companies, hospital systems, the government, private equity, and ideologues. These groups have compromised quality for money, reputation, and reputation.
Do you know who now should be the yardstick worth being measured against? Direct Primary Care. DPC turns the tables because we are not poisoned by the above groups. This would make Steve Jobs proud. We are what the system should use as the gold standard (patient satisfaction, time with patients, physician burnout rate, etc.). It’s time to let them know.
