Two More Articles Come About Direct Primary Care

We are DPC News and part of our mission is to publish “breaking news.” Well, here it is. More and more media exposure is coming out about us. I recently wrote about how Inc. Magazine did a really great piece about Direct Primary Care. Now comes two more.
The AAFP published a great article by Teresa Lovins, MD, called Direct Primary Care Is What Medicine Should Be. I like this quote she says at the end:
Let’s continue redefining what it means to practice medicine.
I hope the AAFP members read her article and finally decide that the industrialized medicine model is no longer sustainable and no longer for them. Then, they can jump into DPC. However, I can’t see the AAFP pushing DPC too much; otherwise, their members will realize they no longer need them and just join the DPC Alliance.
The second article that just came out was in U.S. News and World Report and it was called How To Plan for a Career in Direct Primary Care. I like this quote that was in it:
Doctors should be happy in their practice and confident in the care that they provide to patients. Direct primary care is an excellent way to achieve both.
The author was Renee Marinelli, M.D., who is more of a consultant/pundit and not a DPC doc. She does a decent job describing the benefits of DPC and giving some resources, but I sure wish she mentioned some good books on DPC. 🙂
The future continues to look brighter and brighter for DPC as the word spreads. Please help in the process by mentioning the DPC Alliance and this website. We have a ton of resources that are all free!
