The Times-News reports that Dr.Zach Smith of Valley Direct Primary Care in Valley, Alabama recently spoke about Direct Primary Care at the weekly meeting of the West Point Rotary Club. Pictured above, business partners Zach Smith, DO and Stephanie Chappell, NP opened Valley Direct Primary Care in August of 2021.

Dr. Smith first learned about Direct Primary Care when he was attending an AAFP Conference, but he was initially very skeptical. However, he was very intrigued by how passionately the DPC doctors spoke about the benefits to both doctors and patients. He was “blown away about the possibility of practicing medicine this way.”

In speaking about DPC, the Valley Direct Primary Care homepage sums it all up.

Imagine being treated by a medical professional that knows you, knows your family, cares about your situation. Imagine having enough time during an appointment to explain your symptoms completely, and imagine a clinician who has enough time to be thorough in listening and diagnosing. Now imagine that we’re not daydreaming about Little House on the Prairie, but rather we’re seriously talking about a modern medical practice right here in the Valley, run by two Valley natives: Dr. Zachary Smith and NP Stephanie Chappell. Their goal is to provide healthcare the way you — and they — have always imagined it should be: modern, available when you need it, affordable, local, and run by professionals that really care.
