The Lincoln County News has reported that this past fall, Dr. Minda Gold was elected to the 26-seat Maine Medical Association Board. Dr. Gold has been practicing medicine in Damariscotta, Maine for the last 28 years and has owned and operated Full Circle Direct Primary Care since 2017.

Dr. Gold states that part of what she brings to the Board is her experience with using an alternative model of primary care in addition to her prior experience in the standard medical care setting.

It’s important for the Maine Medical Association board to have representatives with backgrounds in different models of medicine because they need to understand how legislation will impact different kinds of practices when they are advocating for one bill or another.

Gold is excited to be a part of the Maine Medical Association Board because she believes in the power of being a part of supportive community. She is also a member of the New England Direct Primary Care Alliance, a close-knit group of doctors at direct primary care practices who actively assist one another and share knowledge, equipment, and techniques.

It is just this growing community of (doctors) that actually have time to talk to each other and learn from each other as opposed to feeling like … you don’t have time for anything.

DPC News congratulates Dr. Gold!

Note: The Maine Medical Association has had three DPC physicians on its Board and the past two MMA presidents have been DPC doctors.
