Another great episode of My DPC Story from Maryal Concepcion, MD.

Dr. Adam Schulte is a Board Certified osteopathic family physician.

He attended Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and completed his internship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA before completing his family medicine residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. He then went on to do a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX.

During his residency training, Dr. Schulte conceptualized a new clinical practice model that would completely reshape healthcare. Combining elements of the fitness community and Direct Primary Care, Dr. Schulte developed The Drop-In Doc, the world’s first, full-service doctor’s office located within a gym. The Drop-In Doc’s philosophy centers around structuring dietary and exercise interventions that are tailored to each individual, thereby achieving optimal health, not merely the treatment of sickness.

He also has a CrossFit level 2 Trainer Certificate.

Hear him share how he came to be a osteopathic family practitioner and CF-L2 trainer after dreaming of being an orthopedic surgeon for years. He describes how he became part of the CrossFit Community, the path that snowballed into what The Drop-In Doc is today and the irony of how the CrossFit community did not initially embrace his practice model as he would have hoped. Touching on why he believes health is, in fact, not the absence of sickness. He also shares details of his practice and how it has evolved as he celebrates his ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY in mid-January 2021!
